CHIGEE XR-1 Motorcycle Dash Cam: Fit It Once, Record Every Ride

The CHIGEE XR-1 is a compact, screen-free motorcycle dash cam designed to record what’s happening in front of and behind your bike, without adding another display to your handlebars.

Once installed, the XR-1 starts recording automatically when you switch on the ignition. No need to charge a battery, attach a camera or remember to press record.

Whether you’re commuting, touring or heading out for a weekend ride, the XR-1 is ready whenever you are.

Front and Rear 1080P Recording at 60FPS

The XR-1 uses two Full HD cameras to record the road ahead and behind at up to 60 frames per second.

Both cameras feature a 136.6° wide-angle field of view, helping capture more of the surrounding traffic. Smart HDR balances bright and dark areas, while image stabilisation helps reduce the effects of vibration and uneven road surfaces.

You get clear, smooth footage that can be useful if you need to review an incident or simply want a record of your ride.

Built Specifically for Motorcycle Use

Motorcycles put electronic equipment through a lot. Constant vibration, bumps, rain, dirt and temperature changes are all part of everyday riding.

CHIGEE has designed the XR-1 to cope with these conditions:

• Shock-absorbing construction: A rigid outer casing with a flexible, impact-absorbing layer helps protect the unit.
• Floating circuit board: The internal electronics are mounted to reduce the vibration and shocks reaching sensitive components.
• Weather protection: The main unit is rated IP69K, with IP68-rated front and rear cameras.
• Heat management: An aluminium-alloy heat-dissipation structure helps maintain stable operation during continuous recording.

The result is a robust recording system designed to stay on your motorcycle, ready for your next ride.

Spoken Alerts: Know That Your Cameras Are Working

One of the XR-1’s particularly useful features is its built-in speaker.

When you start your motorcycle, the XR-1 confirms its recording status with a spoken message. It also alerts you to problems such as a missing or faulty memory card, disconnected camera or system error.

That means you don’t need to check an app or display to find out whether the system is recording.

Automatic Recording and Impact Detection

Once powered on, the XR-1 records continuously in the background.

• Automatic start: Recording begins when the motorcycle’s ignition is switched on.
• Loop recording: When the memory card fills up, the oldest regular recordings are overwritten automatically.
• Emergency recording protection: A built-in sensor detects sudden impacts or abnormal movement and locks the current video clip to help protect it from being overwritten.
• Power-loss protection: Helps preserve recorded footage if the power supply is unexpectedly interrupted.

Important recordings can also be locked manually using a button on the main unit or the optional handlebar controller.

Parking Guard: Monitoring While Your Bike Is Parked

The XR-1’s Parking Guard feature provides additional monitoring when your motorcycle is switched off.

With Parking Guard enabled and the system correctly wired, the XR-1 enters a low-power standby mode when you turn off the ignition.

If it detects vibration or an impact, it wakes up and records a 60-second clip from both cameras.

The next time you start your bike, a spoken alert tells you that Parking Guard was activated. You can then connect through the CHIGEE GO app to review the footage.

Built-in low-voltage protection automatically suspends parking monitoring if the motorcycle’s battery voltage drops below the protection threshold.

Please note: Parking Guard does not send live remote notifications to your smartphone. Footage is accessed locally through the CHIGEE GO app.

High-Speed Wi-Fi Access with CHIGEE GO

There’s no need to remove the memory card every time you want to check a recording.

The CHIGEE GO app lets you:

• Preview front and rear camera footage.
• Download and save video clips to your smartphone.
• View and share recordings.
• Adjust recording and Parking Guard settings.

The XR-1 uses a dedicated 5GHz Wi-Fi connection, with CHIGEE quoting transfer speeds above 10MB/s under suitable conditions.

Bluetooth 5.0 helps establish the connection between your phone and the camera system.

Discreet Installation Without Another Screen

The XR-1 is designed to keep your motorcycle’s cockpit free from additional displays and brackets.

Its compact main unit can be mounted beneath the seat or inside the bodywork, depending on the space available. The two cameras are mounted externally to provide a clear view of the road.

The system connects to your motorcycle’s 12V electrical supply, with both a battery connection and an ignition-switched connection.

Once installed, there’s very little for you to do beyond occasionally checking and saving recordings.

Optional CHIGEE XR-1 Wired GPS Handlebar Controller

If you’d like GPS information alongside your recordings, the CHIGEE XR-1 Wired GPS Handlebar Controller is available separately.

It adds:

• GPS ride tracking, including route, speed, time and distance.
• GPS data that can be displayed with your recordings.
• Handlebar-mounted controls to lock a video or take a photo.
• A status indicator that’s easy to see while riding.

The controller connects directly to the XR-1 main unit and does not require a separate battery.

The GPS Handlebar Controller is not included in the standard XR-1 package.
